Need history/ info on some old Zeiss binoculars

A friend of mine gave me these binoculars to look in to.

The best I can come up with is it looks like they were made between 1914-1918 and never for civilian use.

As far as I can tell they should be Zeiss Jena's but they have a different logo then all the other ones that I looked on google.

The lens cap is held in place by three springs running up through the leather strap in the center.
The glass on these is excellent.

I am sure if they could talk they would tell some wild stories.

I would love to know a little history of these and the markings on them as well as what they are worth.

It seems like the eagle/ buzzard showed up pretty well in the picture but what is a little harder to see is the M down below it.
