I just sold a P30L and the person who bought is having issues with the slide not staying open after the last shot. I did not have this problem with the pistol so I am wondering what might cause this to happen. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I would agree that there thumb is hitting the slide release.

If it was any other gun I would say it was the mags or a defect. But as we all know any defects at HK involve the design team being shot...

Clobb's HK has the ledge of the slide release trimmed back - for exactly that reason. It's a very easy place to put your thumb on that gun. The other cause could be dirty magazines - since lot's of folks don't believe in cleaning pistols anymore, that's possible too.

tell him to stop being a numskull and try firing the gun with his thumbs purposely off and away from the slide release. If it locks back when empty he is wrong. It happened to me all the time until i got the P30L-S.

99.9% sure this is a slide release contact issue. Tell him to try shoot it without touching the slide to be sure. As enefgee mentioned I shaved mine to help cure the issue.
