Hey Guys, got my hand on a minty Sauer 200 in 270 :cool:didn t expect that in a short term!
Mostly for hunt but for fun a the 200 yds range,
Was thinking of a vortex pst because of the cool illuminated reticle and ffp
What ar your thaught on that? Other ideas would be mostly apreciate, thx

I love my LH Sauer 200 in 6.5x55 and top it with a 2.5x8 power Leupold scope. It's deadly with any 140 grain ammo that I feed to it. They take down easily for travel (I hope that you got the hard case with it.). You can actually switch barrels (if you can find them) for 30.06, .308 etc as long as the bullet base is the same by loosening a couple allen screws on the receiver and replacing the barrel.
Bonne Chasse,

I was going to agree with OP say the Viper PST 2.5-10 would be a good choice too (and it still is), but looking at my Mauser M12, it has a 2.5-8 Leupold on it...

Extra mags are very difficult to find and expensive when you do. DO NOT get the five round mags!! The little lips where the metal holds onto the plastic breaks off easily, ejecting the plastic base, inner spring, follower and remaining bullets onto the ground. A special long allen key came with mine and the hard case. The long end goes into the base of the stock and the stock removes easily, similarly the forend. The short end will loosen the allen bolts from the receiver the the barrel comes off easily, if you ever find another barrel for it. Very nice quick dismount rings came with the rifle making it easy to store in the hard case. The short end I'll try to get some photographs and post them, as I don't know what brand they are. When you put the scope back on, they never lose their zero.
Factory ammo is loaded light for all the old 6.5x55 military rifles out there and you could hand load for Sauers extremely solid receiver (the bolt actually cams into the back of the receiver) a lot hotter round but I've found it so accurate with the factory loads, I have't bothered to do much hand loading. Except for sighting in occasionally, one shot usually does the job on a deer or antelope.

Good info Da moose, for sure the tool and extra mag would be a plus, but I wont push to find another barrel since the 270 is perfect for my needs, and yes the rings ar detacheble it was coming with redfield 1" with the screw totake off and just received 30mm complete with base from ewa with spring pressure release they ar niiice ;)

And Guys,It should be a GERMAN scope your right !

Thanks for sharing Da moose, darn good looking kit :).and a lefty...rare!only difference i can see is my mag is not sauer engraved, didnt took pics yet but will do it soon!
I've reed that it was 5mm,both side? If you can confirm that for me would be apreciate. I ll get 1 from snap on.
Scope :for the moment my friend has a leupold vx 3 2.5-8x30 that was damaged on the exterior that he let me paint...not to bad
Lenses ar perfect, like yours it thrully fit the riffle good.

I was just kidding about the German scope. This Sauer is a very nice gun. I will be hunting Moose and Bear this fall with mine.

Da Moose - Great detailed pictures of the gun and kit. Thanks for sharing.

Bele le kid - Just make your own Allen key. Cut a regular key and braze in a length of rod. I would make you one if we were neighbours.

For sure i would like to have original stuff...but that is expensive i ve seen case for 400$ US ,mags for 200$ US can imagine the tool for 150$,ya right ;)
I ll make one like you said, thx.
