Wanting to buy new a .410 for grouse. Not sure what to look at. have plenty of 20 & 12 ga's in pump, semi and single. I was looking at the Mossberg 500 field pump but I just don't know.
I own a Mossberg 500 in .410. Nice little gun. It does need some breaking in as they do have some feeding issues. A little polishing in the extractor will work wonders for that problem. I feel they are worth the money.
have you looked at the backpackers?
they are cheap and really fun, they also mount really well onto atv's ect cause of the 12" barrel.
I use one all the time for grouse....ok not so good for the long range shot but grouse are pretty dumb.
You may wish to look at the Baikal model IZH-94 .22LR/.410 combo......the rifle (top bbl) is accurate. The shotgun bbl, well, may or may not be that well regulated. Overall, a well made and effective combo gun.
Thanks guys, some good suggestions. You know how it goes, you hunt grouse for 15 years during moose season and all of a sudden you what to make it a little more challenging. I'll keep you posted on what gets aquired.
Well checked out a few different ones at Lebarons and Basspro. After doing that I ended up ordering a Mossberg Model 500 from SIR. Good little .410 delivered for under $300.00.
Thanks eltorro, the Mossberg is actually a good carrying hunting .410. As for your hunting trespassing adventure, although a piece of me wants to know, I'll let sleeping dogs lie.
