I think you may be limited to one S&W model and maybe one Ruger if you insist on double action.
S&W made the model 25. It's also currently available new in the Classics lineup.
Ruger keeps changing their chamberings in their DA Redhawk lineup so there may be an older model that was chambered for the .45LC at one point.
Why the insistance on .45LC? Surely you don't shoot that cartridge in your work gun. If you want a big bullet shooter that is in double action to allow you to get more familiar with DA shooting then go with .44Mag and reload down to .44Spl loads. You'll find a lot more options in .44Mag out there.

I'm uncertain about the distinction between the .45 Long Colt and the .45 Colt,
but if there isn't any, then the S&W 25-3 would definitely be a candidate, although I'm not sure about how cheaply you could get it. So the new 4.2"

Del Selins has an add on the EE right now for a Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 casull for 719. It will shoot .45 LC and if you ever want to bruise up your wrist a little you can get some 454 casull. I was gonna buy it but it is a f n huge gun. I went with a Redhawk in 44 mag instead. There are not a lot of da revolvers in 45 lc they tend to be single action. Why not sell some of that 45 lc and get some 44 special instead. I'm sure you could find a local buyer on the ee.
That's 45 ACP, not 45 Colt. Can be converted with a lot of work though. DA 45 Colt revolvers are S&W 25, Colt Anaconda, Ruger Redhawk and Super Redhawk, Dan Wesson large frame blue and stainless, Taurus, and the extremely rare High Standard Crusader (I think they made all of two of them). There was a cottage industry converting N frame S&Ws (Model 28 usually) to 44 Special and 45 Colt, I've seen a few, some quite nicely done. Good luck. - dan
not sure what you use at work, or why anything different than what you use at work would be good "practice", but i can't fault somebody for just wanting another noisemaker

Just for info, the S&W's are slightly smaller and easier to carry then the Redhawk/DW revolvers. If you plan on hot rodding the 45 Colt to 44 Mag pressures (and it is easy to do), I would go for the Ruger or DW as they are stronger revolvers and will withstand the pounding longer then the S&W. - dan
I have a 4" S&W Model 25 DA in that caliber. I use mine in DA mode quite often. A 4" N frame is just the right size for a reasonably compact yet powerful carry gun. Too bad about our laws. - dan
