Hi everyone, I need some info on this 3gun/2gun madness. Please be gentle I'm a newbie.
I've seen some videos and it looks like something I'd be very interested in trying out. But I would sure love some more information on this
What does it mean?
I imagine 3 gun means: pistol, semi auto rifle, shotgun. 2 gun means semi auto rifle and pistol? Is there a limitation on the specific type of rifle, pistol, shotgun? Service rifle? National match rifle?
Training:
Also am I required to have a black badge certification to tryout? Do I need to take an action carbine class? Are there training classes offered tailored for 2gun/3gun competitions?
Gear:
What gear am I required to have? Holster? Vest? Belt? Gloves? Boots? The gear should hold how many mags, is there a minimum/maximum number of rifle mags, pistol mags, shotgun shells to be worn on the person? I assume the rifle needs a sling, what type of sling? 2 point? single point?
Sights:
Are holographic sights allowed, are magnification sights allowed, lasers allowed, or is it just iron sights?
Mags:
For the rifle is there a limitation on mags? Meaning can I use my new brunswick 14 round mags or just 5 round mags? Pistol, I assume it's 10 rounds, but could you use a .40 mag in a 9mm and squeeze in a few more rounds?
Eyes and ears:
Hearing protection, is it required to have those fancy electronic ear muffs or are ear plugs enough. What type of eye protection is required? I usually just shoot with my regular seeing glasses, is it required to be wearing safety glasses?
Locales:
Where are competitions held? Is it popular in lower mainland BC?
Duration:
How long does one competition last. 8 hours? 2 days? 3 days?
