I have been offered to take over a collection of guns from some old folk unable to provide me the details i would like to get.

Its a camo 700 with a scope camo to match, this is as much details as i could get out of 3 phone conversations.
( Guy is 2hrs away from me so driving up there to look at the caliber myself is kind of a log drive).

I assume the rifle was offered with the scope as a package.
The picture below is the only picture i have of the rifle, could anybody figure out details frrom it?

I gave it a shot on the precision rifle forum ( tought the 700 was used for precision shooting as well, got little info and a salty response) so i am giving this forum a shot.

Thanks

Rem 700s are popular for precision builds, but this model is definitely geared towards hunting. I don't think Guntech was being crabby in the other thread, just letting you know you might get more responses here.

For value I'll say what I did in the other thread: Rem 700 SPS DM. Worth $450-$550 used. Scope looks to be a Nikon Buckmaster, if it is add $150ish. If it is a no name brand add $50.

I'll add: rings and bases look like Leupold STD, good quality! Nikon Buckmasters are good budget scopes, reliable and clear.

For info what do you want to know? The Remington 700 is very popular. Some like and some don't. The stocks on the SPS are a little flimsy, typical of rifles in the price range though. The rifle should be reliable and accurate, fit and finish will be nothing to write home about though. A package with Leupold rings and bases and a Nikon scope will be a good reliable hunting rig.

I did not take offense or anything, i moved my thread to the right section, its all good.

The rifle will be thrown in a deal for a few other guns and i wanted to eyeball the market's price first.

Not knowing the caliber is really killing me, i was hoping for somebody to chime in and tell me that this model was only chambered in X or Y caliber to narrow it down.

Will get my google-fu on for further details!

Thanks

Looks like a long action. To my eyes it looks like the slightly heavier contour Rem uses on their magnums. That means it's most likely a 7mm RM or 300 WM. My eyes could be off though.

Your eyes are correct its a long action!

However the magazine says non magnum.

Scope is a nikon 3-9x40, rifle is chambered in 30-06.

Now that i FINALLY have complete infos, what do you guys think its worth?

Read the text on the barrel. It's as plain as day.

He doesn't have the gun and the caliber was stated a few posts back.

Maybe try reading the whole thread before posting rude comments.

It's just a frustrating thread, and post three nailed the value ... and he can't get the "owners' to provide the caliber?

No i cant.

You literally read through the info twice and assumed i was just retarded.

Rifle is 2hrs away from home, and i'm dealing with old folks who cant read it and took 3 days to send in a picture.

Third times a charm!

I don't think you are retarded, the thread may be though ...

Since no one has physic abilities you won't establish what cartridge that rifle shoots on any forum... the rough value has been established. Since the rifle will be thrown in a deal for a few other guns... you should be more concerned what you are paying for those other guns...

Literally reading through two copies of the same thread to bring little to no awnsers while skipping the reason why i am asking could be considered retarded as well.

I now have awnsers to my questions, thanks for the input.

I am still waiting to hear what the other guns are ,if this is just a throw in the others might be pretty good ,,,fill us in Dutch
