Need info on CIL .22 take down with 2 pc stock

I have parts [barrel and stock] but no action for a CIL, Montreal marked .22 take down rifle with a 2 pc stock.
Can't find any info about it online. Does anyone know what model # it may be. Have been told it was made by Anschutz but there is nothing on the barrel to indicate that......I have the barrel with sights, and both the forend and butt stock. Any help appreciated. Thanks ....wTc
 
The barrel is marked with 'Canadian Industries Limited Montreal Canada' on the top and along the left side is marked 'Calibre .22 long rifle and further back a number 68. Thanks.
 
The butt stock has no cutout for a tang on the top but does have a lower tang cut out. Stock attaches with a through bolt and fore end attaches with a single screw into a barrel stud and a square tenon on the rear of it. The barrel does have a feeding ramp but no provision for a tubular magazine......I'm kind of guessing its a clip or box mag fed bolt or semi auto action.
Went through the Gun Digest book of exploded view drawings and didn't find anything. The finish on the stock is very similar to a Savage / Stevens 311 shotgun stock in colour and appearance. The barrel has a faint octagon mark, a Z 68 and something that looks like 3 waves of rolling water.
I can take some pics but don't know how to post them. Have searched extensively under Savage, Franchi, Anschutz, Cooey and no bingos....yet.
 
Anschutz's mark on the barrel looks like a single antler, sorta.

There were a LOT of Anschutz 300's that went to the wreckers because the action had cracked. It was Aluminum, and not too strong, apparently.

Google images search the phrase Anschutz Semi Auto.

I was buying the barrels at show for $10 to $15 for a while, to use as donor barrels for projects.

As to posting pics, read the stickies on the EE, or the pictures sub-forum. You save them in a Photo hosting site, like photobucket, and insert the "img" code into your post. Or ypou pay up for membership in the club here, and you get to insert them directly in your posts (they get hosted in the server here)

Thanks Trev. What I described as 3 waves of rolling water is probably the half antler that you mentioned. Things are now pointing towards an Anschutz 520 or CIL 470.....but not definite. Still can't find a picture of either guns to verify. Apparently these guns had alloy frames that frequently broke and that fits into my puzzle. Any ideas where to find pictures? Thanks all.

I had one (CIL/Anscutz 470). As has been stated, aluminum receiver, detachable magazine.
I have parts for some as well.
 
Very close! My butt stock doesn't have the checkering, forestock looks exact; I don't see a take down screw on the bottom of the receiver and front sight is a bit different but otherwise looks the same. Chris, is the one shown in the picture a takedown model...do you know? Thank you for the picture.
 
I can't say for sure Garry. The takedown screw would be just forward of the magazine and if I remember correctly it has a head on it about 1/2 inch across and is about 1 1/2 inches in length. I believe it also has a keeper screw similar to Mauser rifles.
 
Yes, that picture is the takedown model. I have the exact same one (CIL Model 470, made in West Germany by J.G. Anschutz).

If anyone comes across one, I'm looking for a buttplate to fit one of the CIL/Anschutz 22's.

Try not to get wrapped around an axle trying to find an exact match, as you may never do so.

Changes year to year, change from one batch to the next, ad, esp., changes due to the orders by the resellers, like CIL, who would have spec'ed the guns very differently than the Anny labeled ones, in order to have a different product than the 'other' sellers had, would make exacts unlikely.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks...
