Need info on Winchester mod 69A

I need some information on Winchester model 69A. I have in possession a really nice example of one. Missing a mag an has really strange rear sight. Anyone have an idea on value of this thing.? Missing a mag but otherwise is mint. I imagine it has been redone.

Mags have gone plum loco in value for an original.

Winchester made a variety of configurations of the Model 69 and 69A.
The smooth trigger was pre war and the grooved trigger was post war.
They used different sights as well.
The last Salmon Arm gun show I was at, for the first time I saw one of these
with the grooved receiver for a scope mount.
Never seen nor heard of this.
Rimfire Central may have some good info on them.
Google would probably bring up a bunch of info as well.

its somewhat regular sight but just a bit taller. looks aftermarket.

At a table at a gunshow? $160.
That's a cheapy sight. The receivers are drilled and tapped for various sights and mounts. This one looks like it is an aperture, but is adjusted by loosening a screw and moving it. Not good enough for target shooting.
I sold a very good Winchester 69A, with a mag, of course, on the EE a few months ago. Mine had side mounts for both 3/4 and 1 inch scope tubes and a tuned and lightened trigger. I forget what I started at, but when it came to the top I lowered the price. This happened about three times and finally sold it in the low 200s.
No mag in this one would certainly bring the price down by $75, so 160 as is may even be higher than it would actually sell for.

Brownells had the mags on for 5.95 a few months ago as a special - worth a look. They are a nice well made rifle and have stood the test of time, the only fault that can occur is the straking that locks the bolt handle tight to the bolt itself loosens -- an easy fix by resetting the straking. all the best Art.

I have the same rifle. It appears that the rear sight on yours is missing the peep insert that should be present. It's a two piece round disc that screws together into the frame of the rear site.
You loosen the disc to move left or right for windage and elevate the entire sight by loosening the rear mount screw on the side.

Nice to hear 69A values are on the rise. Mine is never going to be sold, if I can help it. Shoots as well as my CZ452s and Savage MKIIF, but there is nothing like the feel of an old classic Winnie.

What I want is a single-shot adapter, rather than a spare mag.
