Need information on Lee Endfield

the man that i got it from got it in the 70's. It's just on top of the rack for the pic
.

Could you take some good pics of the rifle please? Showing the markings on the left etc?

Looks like one of Beater's tankers. Member Beater has converted a number of sporterized Enfields with cut barrels to this tanker configuration. I had one and he does very nice work. The one I had shot well too.

Here's a pic I have I believe of an Inglis Butt. Note SALTD.

Looks like one of Beater's tanker conversions.

the end of the barrel and crown seems to have the same profile as a factory enfield.

It should shoot ok, and $380 for a tanker enfield is not that bad of a price.

But yes its been modified into a configuration that was never issued to anyone.

it is a good shooter had it out today .

good to hear, I found my little 20" tanker really pleasent to shoot. No problems holding a 4" group at 100m freehand. One day I'll have to get serious and really shoot it. But its much better then my full wood LongBranch which won't keep a decent sized group from the bench. :( but the LongBranch needs to have the crown fixed.

No 5 Trial 22

I read something on the internet it says that the Serial number should be under 1-102 mine is 155... It don't matter to me one way or another because the thing shoots...

I have what I believe is a No5 jungle 22 conversion.. I'm guessing it's a little bubba'd (the stock)

It has
M47C
1945
t10155
on the left band

pw3002 on the right on the barrel
22no5%20rearst2.JPG

really nice target sight on the rear and a hooded post on the front...
nothing on bolt
under the bolt on the right side looks like ligx can't read it

7 and 7c in front of the magazine

the stock is checkered sorta like this except a shorter barrel (21") and no upper wood

What do we know...

Wow...never seen such a beast.

It would be interesting to see a good set of pics.

$380 seems to be the standard price for the recent imports. They came from India or Pakistan, and usually have the "Ishapore scre" through the stock, forward of the magazine. The screw detracts from the price a little.

Interesting marking on the butt. First I have ever seen like that.

Brass butt plate on a No. 4 ? Says Indian to me.

Grizz

Nope; early No4Mk1 had brass plates, it wasn't until mid war years the brass became too valuable for butt plates. Someone more knowledgeable than myself could chime in and provide year and location, but i know that a brass plate doesn't necessarily mean it's Indian.
