Hi guys, havent been shooting a pistol in a while since I stuck to revolvers, my son wanted to rent a pistol at the range the other day and we both had fun with it.

I wanna purchase one but dont wanna go overboard in price, but want a quality pistol for the money im gonna spend. I dont just wanna shoot and have fun with it alone, I also want one that will shoot accurate to at least 25yds. Accuracy is just as important to me as having fun.

I have narrowed my interest to these guns however they are not available in my range to rent them.

CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW
S&W M&P PRO
BARETTA 92FS INOX

I would appreciate any input from any owner who has or had one of these guns and shot them for at least 1000 rounds, and give me any negative or positive feedback.

Thanks guys.

accuracy is up to the shooter, i can assure you any of those guns can out shoot me or you. Id suggest an M&P range kit in 9mm if funds are low. Get everything you need in one box. However, any of those guns are good shooters.

from what I have shot the CZ stuff is excellent. I shot a few the other nite at an IDPA thing and they were excellent. First time shooting one(CZ) and the first time shooting each of those individual guns. Hell first time shooting IDPA for that matter. 85% of my shots were in the center circle with them. the same can't be said for the Glock or the S&W M&P9s.

I didn't shoot the Beretta, so I can't fully compare that, but from what I have read, they are very good handguns.

You will get a million different replys, get what feels good to you. Hold all the guns in your hand and if possible shoot some. Whats good for one person is not gonna be the same for someone else.

These 3 were the ones I was able to hold in my hand and felt really good from all other pistols, unfortunately I couldnt shoot them cause they were brand new and only for sale.

All are a very good choice but if its for the wife and kid too shoot as well id say m&p for the interchangable backstraps. If its just for you then my vote is beretta,I own all 3 but my beretta goes too the range everytime

I own an M&P in 9mm and love it. The interchangeable palm swells are a nice feature on the S&W. When I purchased mine I bought the range kit which included 3 palm swells of different sizes, a Blade-Tech holster, 3 mags, Blade-Tech 2mag pouch, carrying case, cable lock all for $730 taxes in.

First pistol should be a heavy all steel piece....I think you will be able to shoot it better, it will last forever.

Congratulations, your choice is with 3 good pistols, go with your feeling, personaly it would be between the CZ or Beretta.

If your gonna be shooting it with your son the adjustable backs straps on the m&p may be a bonus. I own 2 m&p's and a 92a1. Comparing between the 3, the only thing to really base your purchase off of would be feel in your hands. I personally do not like the way shadows fit. Great guns but poor egos for my long fingers.

There's no loser in that list. But you do have a mix of DA/SA hammer fired guns (CZ and Beretta) and a striker fired gun (S&W). If you've shot a Glock, Springfield XD, Ruger SR9 or some others of this same style then you have shot a striker fired gun. They do feel somewhat different from a hammer fired gun in the trigger feel department.

So to help this out what has been two of your favourite handguns out of the bunch you've tried so far?

guys i think he said first semi auto pistol, as you can see he shoots revolvers.

as for between those 3 options...
ive considered all 3 of those, and in my opinion:

the cz shadow is amazingly accurate, feels amazing in your hands. this one has the nicest trigger out of the 3 choices you mentioned.
with this, also comes the lightest trigger which may be prone to double tapping since you are use to what i assume would be heavier triggers on the revolver.

beretta inox, by far the best looking out of the 3. ive only shot the 92fs and not the inox but the only difference im aware of is the finish.
this pistol is on my want list. i would get a italian one simply because its italian, but ive heard the usa ones are equal quality.

the m&p9 ive never shot. ive held one and the grip felt nice. for the money i think ill get one eventually but i think that with your revolver history this may not be the one you like shooting the most.
i say this because i know a guy at my club that shoots revolvers, he loves his cz shadow. he isnt a fan of polymer. if you can try one before you buy it you may like it, but i would rank it lowest on your list, but maybe not someone elses.
i shoot a glock and i love it. may want to consider one, may not. but it is the easiest to sell for almost what you paid....

if you like the beretta inox and want to save about $100 just get the 92fs in black.
92fs - $715

inox - out of stock but i think its usually $850

I as well now shoot mostly revolvers as you do. I have had all three of the guns you listed. I now only have the CZ. For my money it is the best of the three and the worst for me was the S&W. Jusy my two cents worth.
