Hi guys. I just picked up my Dillon XL650 and other gear on Friday. I want to get some loads worked up for my black badge course next Saturday. Can anyone give me their pet loads please?

Thanks!

That it for loads? I want to start loading ASAP. The dillon is set up ready to rock. Just waiting for bullets, powder and primers! I have bullseye and WSP primers but will get whatever I need tomorrow and hopefully start loading tomorrow night! Need PPC loads for thursday too. I have a 38 special conversion to set up and will pick up full wad cutters tomorrow. :)

you don't need major loads for the black badge course.. just get a load that you know works (from one of the ones listed) ..

there is absolutly no requirement for loads when you are doing your black badge ( I used factory, and a friend used his minimum loads).

True, true.

FWIW I don't recommend a newbie reloader to take your first batches of reloads to a BB course. Last thing you want during the course is to fight with ammo problem.

However, that been said below is my .40 IPSC load. :)

- Montana Gold 180gr JHP
- VV N320 5.2gr
- WSP
- Oal 1.200, crimp 0.470

Makes 174pf out of my SVI's Schuemann Ultimatch barrel.

BTW this is a pretty long round which works well with 1911s, you might want to double check with other CZ owners to see what oal works best for the CZ.

You will likely have a problem trying to run the long length loads in the CZ... You'll want to check some lengths with your gun and make sure, not only that they feed well but that you don't pull the bullet when exctracting a "loaded" round... Please do these tests without primer or powder.

Also start with lower loads and work up if you are shortening a load.

Thanks guys. That should do. I have some factory loads as backups, and I the range is only 5 minutes from my office, so I will load a few combinations tonight and test them tomorrow. If I need to, I will make some more and test Wednesday. Thanks.

Where is everyone getting Vit powder?? I can't find it anymore. Has the supply line reopened? Need a source for bullets too. If Montanas are most popular, I'd like to get those. Titegroup is available locally, most others are not. Is that a decent place to start? What about primers? Shouold I try match primers?

Thanks!

No need for match primers in pistol shooting, esp. IPSC as the variation resulting is inconsequential with the loads/ranges we're shooting.

Match primers are for precision shooting.
