i only got this powder (H110-win962) and no other choice.
am loading on casted lead molded from LEE MOLD DC 401-175-TC.

searched everywhere, can only find load for big magnum in 40cal.

note: no am not loading for a glock so dont worry.

Well theres a reason you cant find data for that. H110/W296 is not suitable nor recommended for the 40SW. With such a high pressure cartridge you are best to stick with published loads using proven powders. 110/296 is an outstanding powder in magnum calibers. Do what u want but I would suggest looking for a powder suitable for 40SW.
A quick inquiry on the web turned this post up from another site.
I tried them in QuickLOAD with 180 and 200 grain bullets. Even filling the case 100% (no compression) neither could get past 11,000 psi nor past burning only about a third of the powder in the gun. The rest went out the tube. In reality, these may well squib out. The powder burning volume behind the bullet grows too rapidly with bullet movement to let that small quantity of powder get burning thoroughly

and yet another post
I also have some H110, and emailed that company, to be told it is NOT a suitable powder for .40S&W

Maybe time to do a bit more research. H110/W296 is not a powder to screw around with adjusting loads.

Powders that *are* suitable for .40 S&W with heavy for calibre projectiles include:

WSF, Win Action Pistol, W231, W571, Blue Dot, Herco, 2400, Power Pistol, Universal, HS6, W540, Unique, Accurate #5, #7, #9

Use published load data.

It is my experience that most of the time people on internet loading forums are overly conservative and scream "BOMB! EXPLOSION! DON'T DO IT!" far too quickly.

This is not one of those times. W296 is completely unsuitable for the .40 S&W, I can't think of any load level that could possibly be safe.

...and when the manufacturer considers it unsuitable, I would think that to be a reliable source. Any previous experience with W296/H110 would have demonstrated that clearly. At least the OP is asking instead of just jumping in experimenting. It would be what I would consider as a self correcting mistake..You would only do that once.
OP, sell the powder and find something suitable. The wait is worth it.
Cheers

alright, got it.
powder is very rare here and i dont want to drive 3-4hours to get some.
the store salesman told me it was a good one for 40S&W, got tricked.

will check if i can pass it tru my 30-30.

Primary usage of W296/H110 is magnum cartridge loadings for pistol. .357 Mag, .41 Mag, .44 Mag.

It's very specialized, which probably why it was stock and offered by the retailer when other more suitable
powders were not offered to you (no stock). The flexible, popular powders disappear first when demand exceeds supply.

You can usually find powder recommendations or load data on the manufacturer's websites if you pick your caliber. This should keep you guessing what powders to use on which caliber you are loading for. H110/W296 also works well in 300AAC Blackout and some magnum pistol calibers.

well, nothing is in stock here.
they were only one small shop that had reloading component but they stopped restocking 10years ago. ive bean buying the old stock for a couple of years now and nothing remains. they dont even have handgun or surplus rifle in a 2-3hours drive radius of me.

thank you all for the warning, i guess ill wait until next time i go to montreal or something.
