Need M305 mag advice/help

Labeled how? Milsurp mags have no stamp that says M-14. Your's are likely civilian aftermarket mags. A lot of those aren't made to the correct size. However, assuming the mag body fits in the rifle, a bent lip can be fixed with long, fine, needle nosed pliers by tweaking the lips in or out. Sounds like 'in' for yours. Only a wee bit at a time. It doesn't take much to make 'em work or have 'em not work.
If the mag just doesn't fit in the rifle, send 'em or take 'em back where you got 'em. They're NFG.
You may want to consider finding some stripper clips too. Lets you load without taking the mag out at all. They're cheap and reasonably easy to find at gun shows.

On the vendors Web site they are labeled as M14 mags..."KCI M14 .308 Win. 5/20 Round Magazine" rather than M305 specifically. Rightly or wrongly I was trying to keep the vendors name out of it as I've been a happy customer so far and was trying to avoid embarrassing them. Having read this thread since I last posted I guess I should have avoided these mags.

Anyone know where to buy "good" M14 mags? Marstar?

My experience with them has been bad bad bad. Took a bunch of Dremel work to simply get the things to seat. Followers are tippy.

I don't know how well they will actually work in the end. My Norc mags don't have these issues.

those lips look like the ones on the cheaper priced KCI mag I had awhile back. I sent them back for a refund.

I got all my good mags from Marstar (Norinco)
