was out shopping for a 308 this morning and came across this guy, laminate, stainless, left handed in 3006 on sale for 799... what do you think need quick replies!

was just thinking of getting a stevens in 308 for a lot less than that but this is a beautiful gun that maybe i should jump on! comes with nice rings and bases too!

convince me either way please!!:D
 
Maybe it has a nice leopold on it,otherwise that does seem high.I got mine for $550 but it's right handed.I've heard a lot of good things on the stevens BTW.

That's not necesarily a bad price for a left hand stainless laminate Ruger 77 MkII... 'Course $749 would be a better price or $699 if those "other places" actually have stock.

If it's a 'one only' at that store & they have it on for $799 I'd be all over it if I wanted it at that price. Rugers come with bases integral to the receiver & a set of factory rings.

But there's nothing wrong with a Stevens 200 in .30-06 either...
 
MSRP from Ruger is $773 USD. Therefore, $799 is not that great of a deal as you usually can get new guns in Canada for the quoted MSRP in USD (using CAD). Therefore, I would not pay more than the $773, unless you save the tax and shipping which might make your deal considerably better.

As far as buying a Ruger, you can't go wrong and as far as I'm concerned, their design and quality is superior to either Remington, Winchester or Savage.

ya good point, funny thing is they have the price at 799 listed as 41% off... the regular price is around 1100.... thats weird that it would be that far fetched... the prices are always a little higher here but great selection and stock usually
