Need S&W model 10 year

based on the number alone: 38 m&p second model of 1902 - 1st change.

range 33804-62449 made in 1903ish, should be round butt.

It is a square butt. Reg say model 10 and it looks too new to be that old.

your help is appreciated. There is no serial number info on the net

it is a six digit s/n

square butt started at around 58,000.

Any prefix letter? any numbers in behind the crane? serial numbers of that era should be on cylinder, barrel, extractor star frame.

The ejector rod should have a fat end towards the muzzle.

Grips would typically have serial number in pencil.

If there is a C serial prefix 1961-62, if there is a D serial prefix 1972-73, no prefix 38 special hand ejector M&P 1915-1942 , serial numbers started at 241704 in 1915 went to 700000 approx. 1940-1942. From the Standard Catalog of Smith&Wesson, 3rd edition. Hope this helps.

If no prefix, it looks like it might be .38 Military and Police Model of 1905-4th change. Service sights are a round blade front sight, with a notch cut rear in the top strap. Barrel markings are "S&W" on the left side and "38 Spec CTG" on the right side. Serial numbers range 241704-1000000 with 758,296 manufactured between 1915-1942.
