No ... I'm not looking for something for the zombie apocalypse. I'm looking for a short shotgun for trapping and for on my snowmobile. I chose shotgun because of versatility. Being able
To use adapter sleeves for different caliber a makes it an excellent little hunter. I'm just looking for something easy and light when snowshoeing and trapping , small to fit in a leather scabbard on the side of the snowmobile. Nothing fancy , preferably 12 gauge. I already own a mossberg 500 , a baikal sxs , a cil .410 , another older mossberg bolt
Action 12 gauge ,Stevens 350 12 gauge , baikal semi auto and plenty of .22 LR.

I thought about getting an older break open 12 gauge and cutting the barrel down but I figured it might be just as easy to buy something.

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers

Hmmm.... I carry a savage rascal to dispatch anything in my traps....

As for shotgun, not sure why you would need one, but a dominion arms seems to be a popular choice.....

Hatsan marine guard is a good fit. 20" bbl stainless and plastic. 8 plus one capacity. Cheap too but seems to work fine for the money. I like mine and have packed it all over on the quad and sled.

Same with me I have always packed a short barrel 22LR fore Wolverines and shooting beavers but that is all I used it for I really like the Henry 22 mares leg with the 13" barrel and a full but stock Im told thay are making them in a 22mag it would be the perfect trapline rifle
I know tappers that Target wolfs that will pack a 338 in grizzly country just in case One decides to get up fore a snack in there Carcass dump

lots of wolves where we are ... that's another reason why i like the versatility of a 12 gauge. we had a big issue with rabbies and wolves here last year. That little single shot from corwin seems nice.

That make perfect sense to me I think I would want a shotgun aswell but would pick up a Norinco pump with the 14" barrel for Defense purpose and a little 22 aswell the Chappa Little badger is a extremely light and cheap 22 and accurate

I had a Fabarm martial ultrashort, to this day it is still the firearm i regret getting rid of the most. It is not unusual to find them on the EE for around $500, the only downside is the lack of aftermarket parts.

On the other end of the spectrum, this is my personal fav/high use beaten and worn Grizzly...
It's really smooth, and I like 870s. So bonus.

After:

But...since you have a 500 maybe look into finding a 14" 590A1.

Mine;

The 14" 590s are a good choice. Lighter and more robust than their 870 counterpart.

A single shot or double barrel is good too, but I would have to make the one or 2 shots count and would prefer the couple extra rounds in the mag out there in the bush.
