Need some advice of buying my first ar15

Hey VICIOUS ,

The canadian colts are also nice but i'm not into them as much, not sure why, just never go into them i guess but i do understand the history and all behind them. Still the canadian colts seem to go for about $500+ more for the same comparable models as the colt american ones.

Well i emailed Wolverine supplies which is the official authorized distributor and they most likely wont be able to get any until sometime early in the summer, so my options is wait or get one imported from the us at this time

What about the V7 Pro or V11 Pro. A little longer barrel and better trigger already installed. I think there are more of those due in shortly. Along those lines there also the Armalite competition rifles. The 18" version would suite your purposes quite well.
Fire me an email for more details

Diemaco has hammer forged and double thick chrome lined barrels. Colt is chrome lined but not hammer forged.

@ Wolverine Guy,

Just saw your message right now, will send you an email now! I think your're right about the v7 pro especially if you'll be receiving them sooner than summer.

Great choice of rifle! Look at some LAR/CProd 10 round mags and can suggest a Viper Bore Snake for the barrel.

For optics, what's the primary use of the rifle? Sorry if you've mentioned this already.

We have XCR pistol mags, Hera 5/30's, E-Lander and P-mags in stock. Optics coming out of the ying-yang for everything from 22's to fifty's.

Hey General Brock !

Thx, can't wait to see it in person!
I'll take a look for those mags and at the Viper Bore Snake as well!

For optics i'm trying to decide as i'll be using it both at an indoor range (50 yrds iirc) and and outdoor range (200 yrds iirc), so i was thinking about either an eotech or a aimpoint or maybe even a acog but leaning more towards a eotech/aimpoint. I know that the eotech's have issues not holding their zero and that several agencies were dumping them but i really like that style of ridicule errr i mean reticle lol, plus i'm using it at a range and won't see severe temp ranges or extreme humidity so i don't think i would be really affected, also i like the fact that you could throw on a magnifier and have that option.

The aimpoint is also really nice too and lasts forever on a battery and is very rugged and durable from what i read but it's also a a regular red dot, although extremely reliable!

The acog i'm not so sure about, seems quite pricey for low magnification optic but is also very nice and reliable!

Good choices for sure, I'll add Meprolight as a suggested manufacturer to check out.

Both ET and AP can use a 3X magnifier, so you're ok there. AGOGs are world class but super pricey as you mentioned.

Depending on your location try and get eyes on with any on your list at a local shop, don't be afraid to ask questions to fellow members of your range/s if you spot them using one you have had your eye on. I find they will be usually happy to chat or may even let you dump a mag (I would).

Make sure to save some $$$ for ammo! :ar15:

Thx General Brock!

I never heard of Meprolight before until you mentioned it! Took a quick look today and will be taking a closer look at them again as they seem pretty interesting as well!
