need some help putting value to a colt 1917.

Ok I'll give 250.00
Actually I've never even seen a Colt 1917, just giving a WAG based on the asking prices of similar revolvers seen in the EE.

The info from what I can find is all out of the us so its hard to tell but from what I find its 500-1000 depending on condition. But I cant find any compareables in canada.

I just did another quick search and I find about 20 for sale all between 800 - 1200. What makes this gun worth so little on this side of the boarder?

I'm a WW1 wheelgun covert-er. I've a S & W 2nd model in 455.
Been watching Colts and I'd think this one would command 500-600 on the EE.
It's missing the lanyard ring so that brings it down as far as collect-ability. As a shooter, I'd say 400-600 $.
But only an opinion I suppose.

The barrel says 45, I'm assuming this model is 45 acp with moon clips? If it's been modified or rechambered to 45 colt, this will bring the price down. The blueing is there but worn, missing the lanyard ring. Don't bother about the holster, it's a good one but not original and doesn't add anything. The grips look original, but had the front sight blade been modified? I believe they where originally half round. Either way, 5-600 would be the top end. Still a nice revolver, i'd keep it and shoot it.

That sight is original to the barrel, the half rounds were on the earlier New Army models. I wouldn't sell it for less than $500. Unlike almost 100% of civilian guns, that one may have actually witnessed combat - which could potentially bring the value up.
