Today I received my first handgun, which is Dan Wesson 357 Magnum CTG. 6" blued.

Manufactured Monson, Mass, USA. Serial# 76###

No other markings found.
Are all DanWesson revolvers divided as large frame and small frame?

Anyone know how to find out the actual model of this gun?

Thanks a lot.

Model 15 is blue, model 715 is stainless.

Lucky me, I have one of each.:dancingbanana:

Other designations are barrel length and wether or not it has a full length underlug and/or vent or solid rib.

Mine has the designation Model 15 and I have the VH barrel style (Vented rib Heavy barrel)

It seems that there are many different models for model 15 revolvers.

Do you know what the 'CTG‘ stands for?

Thanks.

Thank you all for the valuble inputs. Since we can order parts from CZ directly, I want to order some fragile parts in case I need them. Is this necessary?

Thanks.

Nah, you won't like it anyways, why not just mail it to me? I'll suffer along with it.:D

This is my first handgun, which I finally received yesterday after 6 weeks of waiting. It is at least worth keeping for a while just because of that. Also, my ATT application is based on it as well. haha. Nice gun, smooth action with strange metal finish I did not see on other guns.

Be honest, too big in size comparing with my hand. Sigh....Maybe change to a smaller grip later. Anyway, thanks for the offer.

Once upon a time I had a long barrel Dan Wesson .44 Magnum. Now as a rule I intensely dislike long barreled handguns, but I must say that his particular DW was among the most accurate handguns I've ever had the pleasure to shoot.

and the interchangeable barrels are a bonus, if u had any with the gun... Too bad they're so damn expensive if u buy from cz-DW in the states...
Cheers
dB:)
