need some help with I.D.

Found this at an antique shop whether or not it is I don't know, it looked like an interesting little round so i thought I would ask you folks what it is.

Some measurements would be helpful. Is that what's known as a "two-nie"? I have no idea what its dimensions are.

I did some quick measurements and came out with the rim being 18mm, the case length is 28mm and from the rim to the tip of the bullet is 40.5mm now I don't know if the bullet has been worn down by this point but I got 15mm for the size of the bullet.

Likely for a .577 Pryse revolver or a howdah pistol.

DEFINITELY not common.
