Today I set up our range in the field and used my laser rangefinder to get exact measurements. I even went out again and double checked distance. I have a Barrett m99 built in 27moa rail with 5.5x22 nxs. Scope height over bore is 2.9 inches, zeroed the rifle at 100 yards on paper and chronoed the factory Amax loads at 2670fps. I then Set my zero stop and set up a gong at 300 yards. According to my isnipe app with those variables listed above I should dial to 3.2 moa for 300 yards, in reality I had to dial to 6 moa to hit the gong and that was even a little low. Any ideas what is going on?

On a fun note the plate was a 16" 3/4" ar500 on a saw horse type stand and it blew it over lol. So much fun.

Sounds strange, 6 moa should be closer to your 400 yard hold.

I would reconfirm 100 yard zero, you might have moved the dial when you set the zero stops. I have done this in the past with my NXS.

What length is your barrel? How close was your Chrony when you were firing over it? If it was to close you may be getting results that are reading high this is typical if you only set the chrony10 ft in front it needs to be 15 feet or further in my experience.

Seems good, two of us were shooting and had the same results, I am really wondering if I didn't move zero when setting the stop. I'll have to check it next days off.
