There are some good gunsmithing schools in the states if you have a couple of years to devote to them. I believe there is one in Colorado and one in Georgia, I would have to look it up to be sure. There was some talk of S.A.I.T. (southern alberta institute of technology) in Calgary offering a firearms course but I don;t know if the program ever got past the concept stage. You could try SAIT's web site or google canada for tech schools and firearms. Good Hunting !

I've been poundin this path for a while.... and those guys who have given me advice so far have ALL suggested going stateside and could not recommend anywhere in canada to get this type of training.

I did a little digging around and the course at S.A.I.T. in calgary is a continuing education course which only covers basic machine work (lathe amd milling machine) related to gunsmithing. Part time course, evenings and weekends. May be good for people in the Calgary area who want to expand their options. www.sait.ca

The only other one I can find which is not distance learning (correspondence) is in Quebec and I have very little info on it. Contact through their web at www.armurie.ca

Other than that, the only options I can find are stateside.
