it was rescued from a garage fire about a month ago, i got it working and theoretically ready to go. the stock and forearm got burnt off and some sh*t melted/burnt on the barrels but the finish on the reciever is still good. it is not warped or anything. still functions as it should and tested it with primer poppers.

Yes, as it sits, it's a wall hanger/paperweight due to the heat treatment it got in the fire. Do NOT attempt to fire it.
If you're thinking of restoring it for use, contact a SXS specialist gunsmith (there are a couple in Canada) and discuss it with them.

ok thanks for help guys. I'll clean it up and and tinker with it, such a shame it looked like it was a really nice gun. tight lock up nice engraving ext. 2 3/4" chambers and by the looks of the proof marks with be from the 50's. all because the guy poured ashes from his fireplace beside his shed without making sure they were cold. there was also a little .410 but he cleaned that one up and shoots it fine.

the stuff that melted on the barrels was likely the solder holding the rib on and the barrels together. That alone means it is now a wall decoration.

no its not. the solder is still in there. its looks like a mixture or plastic, ashes and fire extinguisher stuff I just took another look and it looks like most of the finish is still there even. I really don't think it got much heat, I think the most heat it got was when the wood burnt off, but all the springs work fine, I'd think the springs would have been the first to weaken and break.
