Need some opinions on these two

Looking for a decent scope for my Howa M1500 6.5 Creedmoor 24” Canadian APC Chassis.

I believe I have it down to 2 choices……but I’ve been looking for scopes all day, and could’ve easily missed a good deal.

Vortex has been extremely supportive of my discipline and has nice swag. They are Canadian - or behave like they are. Bushnell is part of some hedge fund profit centre. I have no product experience with Vortex but have many Bushnells. I don't know how to answer any other way.

Both the scopes you link are Chinese made, good, bad, or otherwise.
Arken Chinese made scopes are pretty decent, SH4 are around $500, that's about the max I would drop on anything Chinese.

Is there anything better for 1200 and under that is not Chinese made ?
 
What games you will be using that scope?
Hunting, plinking around or target eventually scoring?
Reticle format.
FFP or SFP ?

What is more important to you, the external cosmetics or the glass clarity?
For that ticket price there are a lot more scopes from EU and UK.

I don't know the Canadian scope suppliers much, I gave up on them years ago, mostly doe to a price.

For target = rings shooting people mostly prefer SFP scopes with center dot. Rings are fixed distances and we do clicks on turrets.

FFP is more for variable distances where you work with dots. Now bare in mind with increased magnification the reticle or dot thickness increases as well and may obstruct what you aiming for.

The next is a parallax, 10 meters/yards is nice to have, but can live with longer if you have established a consistent anchor = eye box.

Sunshade and kill flash ring .... if doesn't come in a box may be frustrating finding one from the net that will fit the front thread.

And finally, recent years I have learned that I like a single piece scope mounts better, getting a 20 MOA built in is always a bonus. Again here, I got very picky.
I like the scope ring split - not horizontal but with angle 45 or even 60 degree or vertical. Usually much better quality fabrication and installing/maintaining the bubble is way more friendly.
 
I’d go Bushnell I really think the glass is much better in them I find vortex glass kinda strains my eyes after a while st the range
I don’t think you’ll regret buying a mid range Bushnell
I have the older 6-24 match pro and I was hesitant to buy it but when it showed up I was extremely happy
 
I don’t have the Bushnell yet, but likely by September 15th…
The rebate is tilting the scales for me, the fact that I don’t need it is the only thing applying the brakes…
I do have a Vortex Viper PST II 5-25 x 50, nice scope and when I bought it it was considered a great scope for the money given cost vs features and glass. It works good, I’m happy with it.
Recently I bought the Arken EP-5 5-25 x 56 due to impulse and some YouTube shills pushing them. Again good scope but not perfect but given the price point a good value.
Vortex was $1500 when I bought it several years ago.
Arken was $850 recently with rings and throw lever.
The difference between the two come down to the Arken has a tight eye box and it’s bigger and heavier but half the cost of the Vortex. Plus I think I like the Arken reticle slightly more.
With my mediocre eyes and just plinking off a bench both work great, I shouldn’t have an issue with them and my wallet is happier spending less as my eyes just can’t justify the optical improvements by spending thousands more (I wish I had that problem).
Use it differently or have different expectations and I’d think the people who use them those ways would push for completely different options at much higher price points.
Bushnell Match Pro’s price point parked between these two usually around $1150 which was a good marketing position.
Knock 30% out of that and it it’s a no brainer.
 
I was going to order the Vortex venom from FOC, as they have a 10% off sale, but of course in the fine print, it says discount can not be used on basically anything you might be interested in……..so, back to the drawing board
 
All those scopes you listed do not equate to better glass,especially at the high end, it just gets you more options.
If you want half descent glass at the high end I think you need to jump up to the $1500 plus range.
Nightforce nxs,swaro z5, etc.
