Need Some Parts Advice

I picked up my Savage 10TR yesterday, and I'm looking to order some parts for it. Namely a muzzle brake, some rings, and an optic (optic will likely come at a later date). Maybe a bi-pod down the road.

I'm looking at an ATRS muzzle brake, but I'm undecided on an optic and what ring height I'll need. I'm thinking something from Vortex will fit the bill. Most of its use will be under 500 yards because for those who may be wondering. Thanks in advance for any help you folks can give me.

Hi I just buy a Ruger precision i am on the same boat looking for an optic , for 2017 the hot optic for vortex will be the Viper PST Get 2 price tag of 1500$ + i will go with the new Nikon X1000 6-24x50 SF x-mrad retail will be around 750$ CAD , on the lower price Vortex have the new Diamondback tactical at 500$

I don't own a Savage but the goal is to get the optic as close to the riffle as possible , i will use the 30MM hight ring scope from Burris .

- ATRS is awesome, you can't go wrong with them i have the scope rings from they great quality.

Pick your optic and then decide on what ring height you need after you've got the optic.

Look at the Insite Arms Heathen brake. They work very well.

I'll second the Insite Heathen brake, works great! Don't buy rings until you've bought a scope. If you make a list of a few scopes that fit your criteria, you'll find that they may have different tube diameters (30mm or 34mm) and different objective lens diameters which would require different sizes/heights of rings.
