Have you seen what an I.C. looks like at 40 yds.? You could probably drive your "K-car" right through it and not be touched.
Have you ever honestly ever tried an IC at 16 yards?
Then suggest a light mod. With modern day shells a full or IM is too much of a handicap for a newbie. Actually it is too much of a handicap for some so called experts, just they do not know it
IM or full is fine for practice from the 16 yard line for those tightening up their game, but is in NO WAY needed.With my 391, with IM I can grind them from the 27. When I miss, it is not because I did not have enough choke, it is because I did not center the target. I can not see any reason to use the full that came with my set. I sure would not suggest a newbie to use either IM or F from the 16

I think you have to test your lights. They seem to be dimming. I already said a Mod. would be fine. Just not an I.C. Are you going through "Woomopos". Cause you just seem to be looking for a fight all the time. Having any hot and cold flashes lately?

You allready said mod. would be fine and I said mod would be good so I think that we partly agree? Where we do not seem to agree is that you seem to think that IC is useless. I do not agree with that and think there are many more things that will cause a newbie to miss targets than an IC. You seem to think a F or IM is needed? I do not and especailly for a newbie at 16 yards.

You may be right that I am going through the Woompos and I may be a liitle more sensative. I think it is that I am facing the reality of CGN without Sheephunter.

That's because the game is 90% mental and 10% gun. If the gun fits you and shoots a pattern that you are comfortable with, it will break clays. So when you miss who do you blame? The gun. I think not. I usually blame Covey Ridge when I miss.

If you stopped using an IC joke you might not miss at all.
Actually when ever I miss from the 16 yard line, I will only blame myself, no matter what choke or joke I am using. Actually those who have been around trapshooting know that if you miss a shot it is one that you have probably hit many many many times before. The last thing I would blame is choke.
Sometimes it really surprises me how little some experienced shooters know. One should never go to the range without a full complement of excuses...errr...explanations for missing. Failure to blame others and failing to blame the choke one is using is a mistake and both should clearly be part of the list. It definitely helps to blame others. CR I think you may actually be on the right track blaming Win94. (I mean what does one think of a guy that uses a rifle for trap!) I'm sure you guys miss because of the chokes you are using too. But that thing about the shots you miss being one you have hit "...many many many times before...". Is really out to lunch. I suppose there is a chance it is a typo. Just in case it isn't, I want to set you straight. I know from extensive experience that the shots I miss are shots I have MISSED many many times before. Take my word for it. I have studied this particular aspect of the game extensively and I know whereof I speak. I also want to say that if trap was a 'mental' game I would be a lot better at it. Nuff said
