Hey guys,
I'm looking at the Robinson Arms XCR's but would like to get the 7.62x39 caliber and before I spend nearly three grand on a rifle I'd like to know how good it is. The reason for the Warsaw pact caliber is I don't want to add any more calibers into my house, have enough already and it is very economical to shoot, although I realize I would sacrifice some accuracy & consistency. So any info regarding this rifle in this caliber such as accuracy, reliability and other pros/cons would be very valued.
Thanks

I went with x39 for the same reason as you, cheap to shoot.

Accuracy was a pleasant surprise. Because I only had an SKS to compare to, I was expecting similar results with the same ammo. My first groups were ~2moa for 10 rounds @ 100 and opened up some with distance. I get the odd tight group but you can't bank on it. I've spent lots of time hitting my gongs with my XCR.
Here's a shameless plug;

Reliability has been great until yesterday. 3820 rounds later, I found a broken op-rod. Until then I had two fte on break in day. I don't know how many rounds I went through with the broken rod as the gun was still functioning, I found it while cleaning. It's cracked 320* around, right in front if the small lug.

I should also mention, the gun is easier to clean than an SKS. Click click, the lower is off, pull the bolt and op-rod, lots if hot water down the tubes. Scrub, wipe, oil.

Please don't think I'm comparing my XCR to an SKS, that would be rude :).
Buy LAR mags, lots of them.
