Hello, just ordered a cz 452 american and have leupold 2-7x 28mm scope.

Which rings would have the scope as low as possible to clear the bolt?

Thinking of warne medium or blk 257..

Any tips ?

Thanks

Yeah forgot the talleys.. got great review at twice the price of warne :)

I could be able to use the low and still clear the scope bell.

The 452 are still available if you look hard enough.. pm me if you need more advice.

I have the same scope on my 455 Lux and I use Burris Signature Rimfires. I'm able to take them off to use the iron sights and not lose zero. I highly recommend them, no issues with clearance and they won't mark up the scope.

I agree with Grauhanen, I have the Warne medium rings on my 455 American with a Leupold VX2 3-9 x 33 EFR. No problems with either bolt or objective lens clearance.
The top half of the ring snaps in place, which I don't like. Other than that, a very nice solid ring.

Seriously? No other fans of the Burris Signatures? They don't mark up the scope, you can take the scope off without loosening the rings and they come with both inserts for 11mm and 3/8" dovetails. What's not to like?

Yes, they come with two inserts for both 11mm and 3/8" so fit is perfect. Not super glossy, just nice smooth finish.

Leuopold recommends (once they lookup) their 13 mm rings for the CZ 452 rather than the 3/8". The dovetail is somewhat quirky and the rings will be canted.

I just ordered some DIP picatinny rails in 25MOA for the CZ452 & CZ455, I also just picked up a 452 Varmint the other day so now I have a few 452 rifles. The DIP rails will allow me to use a standard tactical ring.

I had Millet 3/8" high rings before on a 452 with a Leupold 6-18x40 Target scope. I not a fan of the millet rings.

Sounds great ! So the warne rings fit well on the 452 american ?

People seem to complain it has a gap and not leveled correctly, thats why Im asking.

Thanks

The clamp has dots stamped on it to indicate which way is for 3/8" (452 American) and which is for 11mm (455's). On Rimfire Central long-time and knowledgeable CZ shooters advocating using Warne rings have posted very useful instructions for using these rings. See h t t p://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485602

The Burris rings are very good.

You'll want to use quality rings that mount as low as possible without interfering with the operation of the bolt. For my CZ 455 with Leupold VX-2 rimfire 3-9x33 the Burris Signature (P/N 420554) rings are the perfect fit. I never understood those that suggest and use high rings.

I went through this exercise scoping my 452, and based on allot of reading on RFC, I picked the Warne 7.3/22 Series Steel rings. WARNE PART# 722M The package reads; High Height .525" MATTE FINISH Fits most scopes with 42-52mm objectives. Also, these work with dovetails that are 3/8 or 11mm. There is a small dot on the clamp portion that attaches to the Dovetail that is punched with a small dot. Instructions read;

A: Our 7.3/22 rings are designed to fit either 3/8th inch or 11mm. The dot on the clamp should be in the up position for 3/8th inch and down for 11mm.

The 455 American is 11mm, the 452 American is 3/8...but it is not the same as other 3/8 as the angles are different. I like the talleys because they are steel and they center nicely. I haven't tried the 13mm Leupolds but I've heard they work well. Medium will hold up to 40mm with adjustable objective on all but the 455 varmint.
