Need Suggestions from Board Brothers!!

Well, you'd have to 'mark time' while you were beating your path there as they are all 'sold out' of Norc 1911's and no telling when the next shipment will get here on the slow boat.... :p

Thankfully Canada Ammo is getting the 'Police Model' soon, and it's 2 tone!! Still, get a Spartan - I've never read a complaint about them (which is some kind of miracle)

I've tried a friends Sig 226 in 9mm and I REALLY enjoyed shooting that but I would like to have a .45ACP. I've also shot a couple revolvers at the club but I would like to get a Pistol first then get a revolver, hopefully the Ruger GP-100 I have in mind with the 6" barrel.

You could get a Certified Pre-Owned P220 for under $1K.....

I shoot IDPA and PPC with my SIG P226. Love the gun, it shoots dead on for me and it has never failed me. Now that being said, it may not be the gun for you. Go handle several different models, find one that feels perfect in your hand and with practice and competing you will become proficient with it. On a side note, keep in mind that any pistol you buy that may have a fixed sight, there are several gunsmiths that could install an adjustable for you. If you want a 1911, a Trojan is one of the best deals going, but for the money, the Spartan is pretty hard to beat. Or you go do as Hitzy suggested, a CPO Sig P220 is a fantastic gun if you want a pistol like that.

Well I had been looking at the two-tone Sig 220 because I know that SIG is a reliable and well built gun. Now I just found out that the 220 Match has adjustable rear sights so I'm really keen on hat one right now. It's SIG, which I really like the 226, it's the two-tone color that I like, I has the adjustable rear sights that I was recommended and all I have to do is add a set of hogue grips and I'll be set. So far I found that Wolverine Supplies is the cheapest place @ $1168 and being from Ont I only pay the one tax so if I'm already spending $1000 I might break the budget by $200 and get somethin hat I really like.

Any thoughts or experience with the 220 Match?

The P220 is an excellent, accurate pistol - assuming you like the way it feels in your hand - you can't loose. It is however very different from a 1911.
