I need a set of rings to mount a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 on an HK SL8-4. Basically the scope needs to be as close to the rail as possible since the cheek rest is on a lower plane than the mounting rail.

Minimum height from the centerline of the scope to the top of the picatinny rail (i.e. not the bottom of the groove in the rail) is 1.20" (actually 1.18" but I don't want it touching!). I'm thinking a 1.250" ring setup would be best and allow enough clearance for the scope covers to slide between the objective and the mounting rail.

In Canada, the only option I've found so far is a set of Badger Ordnance 30mm USN EBR Mk14 Mod 0 Scope Rings (High Height) from Wolverine for $195. I'm thinking there are likely other options out there that I haven't considered though (?).

For example, does anyone sell TPS rings up here? Brownells lists TPS TSR Aluminum Rings, 30mm, High for $80 that are 1.225" that would work but not sure if they will ship them out of the US.

Nightforce makes the NIGHTFORCE ULTRALIGHT 30MM ALUMINUM RINGS that are 1.265", but not sure you can get them up here.

Anyone able to help?

OK, well I tried ordering the TPS rings from Brownells. Hopefully they don't give me any export grief, despite being under $100 they are sometimes finicky about scopes and rings...?

On my SL8-5 I chose to go with an AR Riser followed by a set of Leupold Low rings for the Leupold scope.
I chose this method because the top rail is composite plastic and not metal, and clamping metal rings to it just deforms the rail.
The AR Riser solves this issue, but does push the scope higher above bore.

Well whether you use the composite rail or one of the aluminum aftermarket rails, you still want the scope to sit as low to it as possible so you don't have to crank up the cheek rest, right?
