I don't post on CGN very often, so maybe I have no right to comment...but I know that you should always shut up when those more experienced are talking. First, you come up with some personal attack rather than just stating your opinion. Then when it is pointed out that there were only a few photos to go by and that it was clearly stated that the rust was possibly just oil, you drive the knife in further by going on about refusing to admit being wrong...wtf...no respect. You want CGN to lose all their knowledgeable members just so you can act like a child?

Non-wartime gun is worth less in my opinion. I would put this in the same price range as a POF No4 Mk2 between 4-600 dollars because of its beautiful condition. If this was a 42 Longbranch or Savage in this condition it would be 8-1200. Just my opinion.

I just had a friend over who is also I fellow CGN member and who has met Buffdog. We spoke of this kind of thing and we both agreed that it's a real shame.
I know Buffdog and I'm sure there's a good amount of manitobans reading this that are shocked that someone would actually be so rude to such a good man and a very well known shooter/collector.

Respect is earned, and I don't respect people just because they brag about their lathe and welders, it seems however that this is the stuff to impress you.
Unfortunately people are not like a good Bordeaux wine, that means they don't always get better with age.
I am old enough to know, you however, if you start to open your mind, might learn it.
It is time to end this ridiculous discussion (for me it was finished yesterday, but you try to keep it alive at any cost) , the guy was clearly in the wrong, despite his "experience", and despite the fact that he is not man enough to admit it.

Well back to commenting upon the rifle.... I once had an Irish Contract 'in the wrap' which, yes, I unwrapped and shot. That rifle I sold last year for about $650 or so. Prices have been rising for all the LE's and so I'd guess that the OP's rifle would fetch about $600 -800 on the EE
I have to agree with your assessment, $600-800 is about right.
All Enfield rifles seem to have increased quite a bit over the past few years.
The Irish contract rifle (in the wrap) sold for $225.00 ~eleven years ago, looks to me like they were a good investment.

Well, Guys, I think we all know where this one went by now. Lets get the train back on the track, settle down and have fun.
Sometimes the more I get to know about certain people, the more I think my Labradors have much better qualities than some of our Canadian society. Most of the Members here on GunNutz are good people, and want to learn about their firearms, ask questions, and solve any problems they have. Unfortunately, there also seems to be a very small few that just have to spout a lot of crap, name calling, and infantile, disruptive behaviour.
Of course, there is a positive aspect to these posts. It does give a good argument for being in favor of birth control.

Usually people with this attitude drive muscle cars, or souped up trucks, and tend not to have great relationships that work out in the long term. Think Drama.
