Need to know: why the love for the SIG MK25

There's alot of great range guns out there , but when the #### hits the fan ( zombie apocalypse, shipping out to war , law enforcement ......) the sig will not let you down , wet ,dry , snow it'll shoot every time and straight too!

I want to like sigs but I just can't and I tried hard! Brand new 226, .22 kit etc. etc.

They look great and seem to be really well made and reliable, but I just can't shoot them as well as other guns. High bore axis, strange grip angle and shape, not the greatest triggers... But thats one of the best parts of gun ownership one gun does not work for everyone! Variety is the spice of life!

It's a great shooter, really safe. Very weather/corrosion resistant. Upgraded sights. mil spec light/bayonet/grenade launcher rail (vs proprietary "sometimes works" accessory rail). Other than the anchor there are no frivolous bells and whistles. Is it worth 200-400 more than a p226? Depends on how much you care for that anchor insignia!

I think it's the fact that they're one of the guns issued to SEAL Teams, although to my knowledge our Navy guys use standard 226's

No our navy use the sig 8 rounds single stack model. Shorter too. P225.
Some units use the regular P226 9mm.

People say the exact same thing about the Glock. And without having to pay a premium.

Everyone's ergonomics and preferences are different , but if it doesn't work it doesn't work , some fit like a glove and others just don't fit at all , just cause it looks cool and runs good doesn't mean you should buy it ( sadly ) . There are other models sig puts out , but like everything sig you pay a lot for it , glock on the other hand is just as nice and way less money

Biggest problem for me I think was the large bump on the heel of the back strap. I have big hands, that are muscular and thick and that extended bump on the heel just got right in the way and I can't think of any other handgun at the moment that has a grip like that.

I can shoot most guns quite well, but just not at all with a sig, despite trying hard, but when it comes to handguns if they aren't clover leafing for me at 25m I'm not interested.

I feel your pain ! I hate it when I really like something but it doesn't fit , such a pain in the ass or in the hand in this case :) lol ! But as the old saying goes " a good mechanic has more than one wrench " good luck !

I'm a Sig fan but not sold on the MK25. It's just a marketing gimmick, as are most of the other versions on the Sig USA site. Compare the USA product offering to that of the German website and you'll see what I mean. It's all flashy paintjobs and beaver-tails on 9mm's

Spend the $ on a German Sig and you will understand what it's all about. You can pick up a CPO German for less than a Glock... and you should!

Still no answer.....i need to know from the guy that paid $400 for the anchor. Also not a Glock vs Sig or a Ferrari vs Lamborghini, just i don't understand how they can sell a moon racket to the guy crying about the gas prices.

I bought the Elite Dark over the MK25. Didn't care for the rail, gold anchor or extra corrosion treatment. To each their own, everyone is allowed to spend their hard earned $$ as they see fit. Why do you NEED to know why folks by the MK25?
