Need to mount a light..... Hockey tape or???

Cheap and easy solution. Get the Magpul forend ($45) attach an Mlock rail section ($20 for a polymer one) to the slot of your choosing, & attach a light to the rail. If it's not Surefire, Streamlight, or Inforce than don't even bother.

There ya go.

Huh? My Thrunite TC12 V2 does just fine on my 870 mounted via Magpul forend and rail light mount.

I just got all my parts in the mail and set the gun up.

I went with a Mesa Tactical clamp and rail, with a TLR-1 light.

Great setup so far

For the haters, if you can't afford an SF forend, there's nothing wrong with that, what's wrong is spouting off like you know what you're talking about when the subject comes up.

thought about the surefire forend. It just thought it was a bit big, and lacks flexibility. What i mean by that is a TLR-1 can be taken off easily and put on something else.

The surefire light is very nice setup, but it locks about 550$ in a single use, single purpose flashlight.

Has anyone had success mounting a flashlight on the stock 8.5" Grizzly forearm?

I've tapped and mounted short rails on plastic forearms before but I don't think the real estate is there to mount something without obstructing propper grip, or losing the ability to turn it on quickly with your thumb, without protruding too far past the muzzle.

I get that. Nice 870P you bought. Good to see someone being serious about bear protection.

.....or, spend $500,000 and a few organs for a surefire forend.

I've had these forends for over 10 years. They originally had halogen bulbs but I upgraded them to the LED conversion heads.

These are not even the current DSF forends, which might be why you said they cost a fortune. There are many deals to be had used because they're "old".

Dlask makes a railed forend for the 8 1/2 grizzly, that might make it easier, maybe with a Thorntail mount and a short light.

Not a big fan of fully railed fore ends on shotgun, or vertical grips but I'll definitely look into the Thorntail mount and a short rail maybe mounted at the rear of the forearm.

Have a couple of Convoy s2s that should be short enough and hopefully durable enough.

Thanks.
