just ordered,
thanks a lot.
thanks a lot.
Move your hand?
That's a great plan, so either lose the ability to cycle the action (move the hand off the pump), or point a loaded shotgun at an unidentified target. Given that we're talking about use of a light, I'm assuming we aren't talking about a shotgun used for shooting skeet in the dark.
Hmm interesting perhaps something all inclusive would work better
Thank You..appreciated any pics or source?I have two light rigs, both 1". One is a single weaver ring, it sits on a rail on the underside of the forearm. I can turn it on and off easily, my hand is almost resting against it as I pump the shotgun. The second is also forend mounted but on the side at the front, same ease of use. It sits in a cheap laser sight mount attached to a short rail. The one in the weaver ring is quick to remove as I hunt with that gun, light comes off when hunting and goes back on when camping or at home. I live rural and there are many things that can go bump in the night, lots of predatory animals in my neck of the woods. Lights on a shotgun are a useful thing when it's dark and some critter is lurking around.

I guess you have never heard of bears.
Pro Tip: They like to come around at night
Huh... thought the 2nd picture was a CDM mod-C clamp
Ilove12gshotguns: I have and use the same style mount as in your second pic...
^^^^ Sorry, but I think I’ve lost the point of what we are arguing about.
I think having a light near the muzzle is a great idea, as you can pick up the gun, turn on the light, pump a round in.
are you saying that it’s too much time, to move your hand the 3” from the slide to light to turn it on?
Seems a little over thought no? If milliseconds count that much, buy a semi-auto, round in the chamber, safety off, light always on, and I guess learn to sleep with a 400 lumen night light.
Just needed opinions on a good light mount, not about tactics.
Cheap and easy solution. Get the Magpul forend ($45) attach an Mlock rail section ($20 for a polymer one) to the slot of your choosing, & attach a light to the rail. If it's not Surefire, Streamlight, or Inforce than don't even bother.
There ya go.
