I have a Remington VSF 1in12" twist with 26" barrel in .223. I have Hornady V-MAX bullets, both in 40 grain and 55 grain. Federal small rifle primers, Remg brass,, NOW ALL I NEED IS WHAT POWDER CHOICES AND AMOUNTS I.E. Loads that I can use in or work up to with my varmint rifle.

THANKS

Benchmark was my go-to powder for 223 loads. Varget and RL15 will work with the 55 grainers, but you can't stick enough of it under a 40 grainer to make decent speeds, in my experience

28 grains Benchmark under a 40 gr, 25.6 grs under a 55 gr. Start a couple grains below and work up slowly!

Search Blue Dot Powder here. I use it for my reloads and it it safe to use and really cheap also. about 500 loads per lb. of powder
You can Google - Blue Dot Loads .223 There is lots of info out there. A fellow called Seafire did lots of tests on it.
I have a Stevens .223, 1 in 9 twist, I use 13.5 gr. with a 50 or 55 gr Vmax or SPSX or FMJBT bullet.
You need to reload 10 cases starting at 10 gr and work your way up, watch for pressure signs. Maximum load would be 14.0 Grains.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards, Henry

varget and lots of it go up slowly 3400+ with 55gr nosler BT 1.25" at 300y or maybe like other member said, Rl 15 its pushes the 75gr Berger VLD faster than Varget

3031 is giving great results in for me inboth 223 and 308 I have a 700 VLS it seems to like 50 grain bullets best. I am using vmax and producing some good groups seated close to the lands. Little trick I picked up is the barrel seems to like 3300 FPS if its 1-12"

what are guys loading for thier AR's and other 223 /5.56 semi autos. I just picked up a wack o brass and stuff...... need to go bullet and powder shopping........

Here is a test I ran the other day with my Savage VLP .223 in 1:9 twist:

Lapua Brass
RL-10x powder
40 grain Hornady V-Max Bullet
Remington 71/2BR primers
COL: 2.280"

23.0 grain= 0.954"
23.5 grain= 0.286"
24.0 grain= 0.292"
24.5 grain= 0.544"
25.0 grain= 0.507"

Groups of three shots. No chrony test yet but this should be 3300fps and up.
