Need your advice on a new scope

I just buy my first bolt action riffle for hunting , i buy a 783 in .308

So in looking at the special at my local cabelas

I have 2 choice since i dont want to spend more then 300$
Vortex crossfire ii 3x9x50
Cabelas convenant 4-16x44
Maybe something else ?

Im gonna use the riffle a the range (200 yard)
And for hunting

It's cheap because Vortex discontinued the Viper 3-9x40. Glass is much better and you will like the magnification adjustment ring when hunting, especially with gloves on.

Sometimes a few bucks more can get you a lot more.

I have the Viper 4-12x40 (also discontinued) and wish I picked up a couple more of them while I could.
