I am thinking of selling it.

Head over to Trade ex (site sponsor), they sell a lot of old m96 mausers. Cruise through their selection and it should give you a rough idea of what to expect. If you post some pics or more info on your rifle we could give you some better advice...I'm not about to dig through your videos to try and find the one you're talking about...probably wouldn't spend more than a minute watching anyways. Not trying to trash your videos or anything, just stating the facts.

I sold one similar to yours with a wood stock for 400 and purchased a modern zastava m70 left handed for 599 plus shipping and tax. So 400 tops. Best to go over to tradex and see the price of similar m96. Range from 225 to 360. Also purchased a tikka t3 lite for 700 plus tax and shipping. Both left handed.

Wow, 6.5x55 gauge with a 660 meter barrel. That must be some rifle! The date of manufacture is under the front scope base. The bolt has been bent to clear the scope but the high see through bases are still needed to clear the factory safety. Not my taste, thats for sure. If you replace the safety or get a trigger assembly with the safety in it, you could do away with those god awful see throughs. It's hard to tell if the trigger is aftermarket or factory. With the scope and stock, maybe $300-350 ish. I have a 1941 husquvarna 6.5 in a ram line stock with williams aperature, remington style hooded front sight, timney trigger and 18.5" barrel. It's been my favorite for a long, long time.

I'd say its worth about $275-300. Unfortunately the tasco scope and plastic stock don't add much in the way of value, the high mount rings are an unattractive feature, but easily remedied. It does look to be in overall nice shape however and wouldn't take much to turn it into a top-notch hunting rifle!
