Had a great summer showing and driving the 166, spent the fall tidying up issues that surfaced and corrected paint work that drove me crazy to look at in preparation of next spring and the return of driving/show season with the warmer weather. That all said it is now the rebuilding and restoring season (winter) and my goal is to get the Kettenkrad out into the light of day as a fully operational running vehicle. Anyway it turns out I need a copper crash washer for my original Opel carb. Size is 11mm ID and thickness can be 1 or 2mm. If ANYONE out there in CGN land has said washer and wants to help the effort please PM me, many thanks in advance.

11mm is sourced at a motorcycle shop and the 7mm ID washers are in the mail from Hong Kong thanks to Ebay. Working at installing a rough electrical harness to get the vehicle running and sort out bugs and glitches then do the finish and complete harness.

If the harness is cloth wire woven into a loom, you can order the correct gage and colour traces of cloth wire off the internet for around 40¢ a foot, make your harness with just a light use of electric tape where the various wires branch out. Then send the harness along with a drawing to vintage wiring of Maine and he will weave the harness for $1.50 a foot. I talked with him at the MVPA convention a few years ago and he would actually prefer doing that than making a (possibly incorrect) harness from scratch.

Thank SC, I like Vintage Wiring of Maine products and have them in my MB and sons M38. The finish harness will come from Poland as the guy there does a great and super correct harness, till then I am more then content to go with vinyl wiring as its largely inside flexible metal conduits and one does not see much of it unless you really go looking for it.
