Needing help with a 28 gauge value

Seeing clearer pictures of this gun in the EE section, I have a feeling the case colors on the action are not the original. They appear too bright and evident when compared to the side locks. The sidelocks have pretty much no coloring. The stock has definately been refinished. Still, it may be a nice little shooter if someone wants to refinish it.

I took my own advice. It should make a nice little project gun.

Congrats with your purchase. Hard to see in the pics but it appeared to have damascus barrels also which if you are into these old guns know the story there.
Very few can handle factory smokeless powder loads and I am not sure who proof tests in Canada.
Some real low presssure handloads maybe alright but an expert in that area would have to determine that for you .
I have seen a 12ga come apart with damascus barrels and it was not a pretty sight. I have one here in 16ga but I decided to keep it a wall hanger since the risk was just too high in the model I have. take care and be careful
