NEF and H&R rifles Help!!!

I know a guy who had a Ford Ranger with "Mazda" stamped on a few places....

rangers were biult in mazda plants. early 90s ford pickups and broncos with smal blocks have a MOD5 mazda overdrive 5spd.

to the OP. i own 3 H&R's none say NEF anyware except on my registration cards

Back to our regularly scheduled programing - If it was a used gun then it might be one that had a factory accessory barrel fitted from back in the days when we could send out guns back to the manufacturer without hassle.
 
Don't know if Rem got around to FN them up too but my old 158 H+R is a 1/2-1 MOA rifle with several handloads.A moose and many truckloads of deer later........Harold
 
Some tips I have gleened for these rifles...

Do not dry fire them...the firing pins can be damaged/bent with dry firing. Common signs of such a problem are misfires and the impact on the primer will be off set quite a bit.

It has a inertia driven firing pin via the hammer hitting a transfer bar, so hammer down while loaded is the safety...of course with safe muzzle direction.

These rifles also work best clean and gunk free.
