I find the 858 works well for southpaws, an ambi release (and safety) would make it pert' near perfect

I only tried briefly to do a lefty mag change. The drill was to catch the lever with your right thumb after seating the mag. With some practice it'd be easy. Just a little awkward for me because I'm not a lefty. Conversely if it was on the left side I'd have no problem using it with my left hand..

But I'll say no.. It's not "designed" ambi. It's designed to be used with your right index finger. However I have no doubt that leftys will find it of use. Since there's nothing like this for left or right shooters, it's new for everyone and something you'll have to train on. I'll look forward to input when they're released for any alterations that'd make it more natural for both right/left shooters.
