Neit bolt release

Picked my Neit bolt release up at Wolverine Supplies open house yesterday and installed it in about 2 min today. I have no issues what-so-ever with it. No polishing of the shaft, no movement. Works like a charm. It's a bit steep in price but well made and works well. By the By, I installed it on a VZ 58L. Keep the accessories coming!!!

I, too, thought it wasn't going to work at first. But I had to file down the cylinder more and now it's working fine.
The cylinder has to be loose ENOUGH in the hole to work properly.

It's still a great product. My only concern is the longevity of the product. That bolt slams pretty darn hard into the pin.

Has anyone ever needed to replace their factory bolt pin?

.. the TBR is stronger than the bolt. If it wears out, send it back and I'll exchange it no charge.

Went to the range to test out the TBR today and it worked pretty darn good! Hittin' that little paddle is awesome. There were 4 instances however where the bolt did not stay open after the last round. 2 of them happened using the short 5 round mags (which I think I actually used only twice anyway). Does this mean I need to polish the shaft more? There seems to be good vertical movement already but maybe I should polish more...

It could be a mag issue as well. I've got one that will not lift the hold-open.

check your magazine. If your mags are too wobbly it'll also make it hard for the bolt to stay open.
-If it's wobbly it could be your mag release or your magazine itself

Hmm...I never had this issue before with my mags. I have the Dlask extended mag release. Everything seems pretty tight and not wobbly. I'm going to the range again on Thursday so will report back. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks 1jzgte.. glad you like it.

With the 50+ years this rifle has been around there is bound to be some issues with the specs. Most likely when a rifle is built in the factory a tool is used until it breaks or is worn out. So there is going to be variation; The trick is for us to discover the range in varation and try to modify the design to compensate and help anyone with issues. We have made some small changes already to the design and I ordered another 100 run off the machines within days of our first report of poor fitment. So far we've had reports of ~3% of the first batch having issues. Thats a pretty good rate on a new design on a milsurp receiver.. not so much for the few people with issues though. It frustrates me as much, probably more, than those that had problems. We'll do what we have to do to make them work on all receivers. We stand by our product and our customers, so if you have a problem or question, contact us anytime and we'll work it out.

Some notes on the device and the use of the VZ in general.

.. if you push (rotate) forward the magazine while firing this can lessen the force on the mag follower and make it so that the TBR may not be pushed up far enough to catch the bolt. Some mags are weak or fit loose in the receiver and can have this issue as well. We have made an improvement on the next design that will help these weak mags work as well. Correct posture states that if using the Mag as a grip that you pull the rifle into the body. We have not made any improvements to correct poor shooting posture however. ;)

.. If you're sitting on your couch fondeling your gun.. you need to know that the release is designed to work on loaded mags, or an unloaded gun. Trying to release the bolt on an empty mag means you're trying to pusht he TBR down against the mag spring. Good finger exercice.. poor operation. If you want to practice mag changes insert a tooney or large washer in the mag on an angle to depress the follower. Or use dummy rounds/snap caps. Obviously, no matter how slick you may be, never drop a bolt on a live round usless you are pointed down range or at your favorite jihadi.
