A little over a month ago, I had posted my intent to find a machinist who could modify an existing CZ-858 bolt to have an AK-47 style cocking handle.

Neit Arms, run by Dave McFaul, contacted me and said he had done several before, and he would work on mine.

I decide to ship the bolt out to him, and he made quick progress, keeping me updated me with PM's. When he finished the bolt, he showed me a choice of paint colours and reccomended the closest match to my bolt carrier, and had it painted within a day. He shipped the bolt back very promtly, and I can honestly say I was very happy with the work done. The cocking handle is rock solid, yet it is still very ergonomic. There is not a rough edge or badly finished part on any part of the bolt. He also did a great job with the finish. All in all, I am very happy with his work, everthing is absolutley top-notch.

Let me say this, Dave is an outstanding guy to work with. He far surpassed all of my expectations in terms of workmanship and customer service. I really look forward to working with him again, he is a really top notch guy.

Now, onto the photos.

Is that a red oak stock? Interesting choice of wood. A black walnut would look classier with the satin black finish in my opinion.

Thanks to all interested.

Dave really has a talent for metalworking, and from what he tells me, he does it almost all by hand. No CNC mills for this guy! Just elbow grease.

As for the wood, I am currently working on getting these into production. I have already paid my dealer fees for CGN, and am working of getting a production of them going. They are all handbuilt for me. See my sig for a bit more info.

Here is the thread that got all of this thinking started.

So how much did this mod cost? This is interesting.

BTW, that wood is really nice. Although it is hand made by you, its a tad pricey but nice indeed.

Love that cocking handle, but i defiantly want one on the left hand side, both stock set and charging handle are a real work of art. if i wasn't going the m4 stock route id definitely be getting a wood set.

Very nice how much?

This one was free of charge.. I just wanted to see Kevin's gun come out the way he wanted.

Those looking for a similar mod PM me and we'll talk about pricing and specifics.

We're going to be offering these carriers pre-modded on our site, both left and right hand as well as a couple other carrier designs. We're got a ton of carriers waiting to be finished so we can fill our back orders.
