never clean sks

Just to clarify, youd like to see pictures of an SKS that has been used with corrosive ammo and never cleaned? Are you interested in seeing what this does to the bore of the rifle? I personally cant help you with this one, since I clean mine everytime I use it

My buddy, let's call him Mr Lazy Has had an SKS for 3 years.
I don't know how many rounds have been through it. I'd estimate ~500.
He has never cleaned it. Just wiped the grease from the exterior and went shooting.
He says that he is too scared that "everything will go flying" if he pulls that little pin...

It always goes bang.

yea, but that thing's going to be so full of rust and pits, etc, nobody's going to want it after he's had it- one of the first things you learn in the military or anywhere else is cleaning and maintence of your weapon(s) - it becomes a mantra-even when you "graduate" to civilan life

True That ! :)

I have seen lots of rusty AKs over seas and third world fighters give the AK a bad name by there lazyness in cleaning. Anyone who does not clean there gun needs a big :slap:

Thats because most of them don't have running water, not to mention boiling water, you're really surprised by this? Sorry but if its between cleaning my AK and staying alive, Im drinking the sh*t

You dont need water to clean your gun ;) solvents work too. Also they would wash there feet with the bottled water I gave them, so I dont think there hurting for water lol.

Afghans do have cars, tvs, Ipods, cell phones and yes boiling water.

I sold a nice Russian IZH refurb to a buddy of mine; he fired a crate of Czech Surplus and never cleaned it like I showed him... The Barrel and Gas Tube look like Sewer pipe and the Muzzle is so corroded it looks like it's growing... I'll try and get some pics when he gets home from Alberta.

i have "cleaned" mine in the field with used motor oil taken from the dipstick outta my truck and a piece of cloth from my jacket for a patch...

from past experiance corrosion depends on your local humidity levels... in AB,SK,MB i would feel safe leaving a rifle dirty for a few days... in BC you have about a day before you will notice rust in the gas tube.

Thats because washing their feet is a sacred Muslim ritual, most of them have cleaner feet than faces lol.

I have a friend whose whole family uses an SKS for everything from plinking to deer hunting. At least 4 of them shoot it plus uncles, friends, etc. They have put at least 3 crates of corrosive ammo through it. I asked them if they found it to be a pain cleaning it all the time because of corrosive ammo. They wanted to know what corrosive ammo was. They never clean it. It seems to shoot ok. I will ask if I can take some pics of it. It is very dry in the interior of BC, not like the coast, so maybe that helps. Dunno.
