Well being a newby Glock owner and first handgun, I never tried to load the mags till I got to the range, and left the speed loader do dad at home, a LARGE ERROR, never to be repeated.
One of the other fellows let me use his Uplula. FS

Assuming you have a safe to store your pistols in, try loading your mags and leaving them loaded for a week or two, it'll take some of the newness out of the springs. Oh yes, and you'll find the Glock loader isn't as good as an Uplula - nothing is.

Yeap, Uplula is great, it lives in my range bag. Very useful during matches as I usually carry 6 full mags for USPSA Prod. and empty/disassemble/clean (BIG thanks to International for that Arredondo brush!!) and reload the ones that were dropped during the stage shoot.
I think all IDPA guys I shoot with bought those Uplulas after they saw mine at work :D

Another thing is I once cut my thumb while loading mags right in the beginning of the match and thou it was minor cut, it caused inconvenience while shooting and also concern I'd get infection spending all day in dusty and very hot conditions.

I don't find it TOO bad right now...but for two or three months I was loading mags with a broken thumb that I never went to the doctor about (wasn't broken all the way through, just cracked the middle phalange).

Now THAT was painful. I loaded about 1500 rounds that way and every one hurt like a mother####er.

My M&P 45 mags ar a bit stiff getting #10 in but I find the more I do it the better I get to the point that I hardly notice. You just need to shoot more.

either the G21's mags are single-stack with a light spring, or you're a wuss! most pain i've ever had loading Glock mags is a scratched nail from the mag lips as i push a round down... the Glock mag loader doesn't look all that special, though - i'm guessing you could accomplish just as much using a small stick?

i loaded glock mags for an hour and a half at the youth shoot at TSC last fall only in the last 20 minutes did someone offer me a mag loader... my fingers were blistered to hell
