I was standing next to a fellow shooting one of my CZ Shadow2 today.

An empty case ejected from the pistol and dropped in front of the cocked hammer (I think the case bounced off the wall of the shooting stall)

Not noticing it, he pulled the trigger again and the spent case blocked the hammer drop!

I removed the case and all was normal but when I tried to duplicate it by placing a case in front of the hammer the case would always just get rolled out of the way as the hammer fell. I suspect the case dropped into place just as he pulled the trigger and it got snapped into a blocking position.

I've seen plenty of weird things but this was a new one. :)

What I've only seen once before was a big breasted girl, bigger the Dolly Parton with a low cut top have a hot empty land on her jugs. I told her as a friendly fyi you may want to cover up them up. She gave me the f-off look before pulling the trigger. After the dance she gave us the, I should of listened look. We did offer first aid but she declined:p

I've seen that a few times. I actually saw a woman rip her shirt wide open to get out hot brass. She had a shirt with snaps on it, ripped it open (no bra) the case dropped out and she looked at me with wide eyes then laughed, buttoned back up and started shooting again. It was an interesting day at the range. :)

Many years ago took a male cousin shooting. Trying out a Beretta 92 9mm. First shot, ejected brass flew up in air then lodged between safety glasses temple & the side of his head. Seared the outline of the profile of a 9mm casing into the skin before he could pull it out. Despite that going on he did do a good job of keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction while doing so, too.

Hot brass, berry protection thread in 3...2....1.

About 10 years ago this happened with my girlfriend, but with a .45 case. She did well muzzle-wise and it burned the crap out of that spot. She hated it at first, but then kind of rocked it when people asked because she was a biology student and it was cool.

This happened to me a few months back.
Dropped my head so I didn't muzzle anyone and it dislodged and had the casing roll on the inside lens just mm's from my naked eye lol
