How long a barrel is that, 22"? Any idea of ballistics of those cartridges out of rifle length barrels? Could be a ton of fun.

The 1-S is Ruger's single shot, 'medium sporter'. If you click on the link above you will see a pic. The tradition claibre in the 1-S is the 45/70 although others have been offerred and the 9.3X74R is now a regular chambering.

I sure like the .300 H&H. Would be a nice companion to my #1 in .375 H&H.

We'll have a .300 H&H in stock (actually, two) in a couple of weeks. However, its a special edition and its quite a bit more than the regular #1's. It has circassion walnut and a nice matte finish as well as more checkering. We are selling one set individually but keeping the other set together(have to buy all five 'the lion .375 Ruger, the Buffalo 450/400, the Kudu 300 H&H, the leopard 7X57 and the Elephant 450 NE). We have 'the lion' and 'the buffalo' in stock already.
There are 250 being made and its the only time the #1 has ever been factory chambered for this round.

Yes, 300 H&H has never been offerred until now in the Boddington edition. Same as for the 450 NE. Ruger has no plans to offer either in a regular #1 according to my distributor.

I wonder if the 450 will be very popular. I almost rechambered my 458 to 450 NE at one point.
