It is my turn to show my latest and throw in my 2 cents. Ruger # 1 stainless laminate in 375 Ruger. I have to hand it to Ruger they made a nice rifle. The fit and finish I find very good. No machining marks anywhere in the breech, very well polished. I find the trigger pull acceptable. The safety is a little stiff and has a louder "click" than I would like to hear. Use should take care of that issue. The recoil pad is a fair improvement from the solid red rubber pads on other Rugers, but a Limbsaver is going on. 48lbs. of recoil according to the specs. I won't argue that number. I shot 16 of the 18 rounds fired over a 4 hour period and my shoulder said enough. I do wish the blued sling swivels supplied were stainless. The rings are very well machined and polished. This rifle is staying with the iron sights. You can see the copper fouling in one picture. A few more gentle cleanings, and more rounds through it should show improvement when it gets fully broken in with the factory ammo. Accuracy speaks for itself. Targets were shot from a bench with front and rear bags. In summary: LOVE IT !!! I chronographed the Hornady 270gr SP-RP (2840fps 24" barrel) factory loads. Average of 2704 fps through the #1's 22" barrel. I am currently working on 300 gr handloads.

My next no1 is gonna be a big bore. I currently own two stainless laminates. The safety click will improve with use. Also try pushing down on it as u slide it forward.

I read on Gunbroker that there was only 288 made. And TWO for sure are in Alberta. How do I know?
I have one too!
Have just mounted a Falcon Menace 1.5 x 5 on it.
Will post pics soon as I can find my camera. Seems it likes taking trips on its own.
If your still on Clay, I will be up on Sat morn for the brass-if that is o.k. with you.
Here's a quick phone cam pic.....

And we found four more. They will be here next week. leRoy; brass won't be in until Wednesday now. looks like everybody took four days off. :(

I put on the Limbsaver pad. 100% improvement. No sore shoulder today. The barrel is fully broke in. Near zero signs of copper fouling now.

Sorry for not being clearer. I cleaned the bore. 14 rounds after this cleaning there is no copper showing on the bore. Hornady's ammo however does leave a fair bit of visible powder residue.

Must be the magic Ruger steel eh. No copper fouling with that premium product. LMAO
If you aint droppin copper you need to stoke the fire.

If your going to stick with irons, I suggest getting a NECG peep sight that attaches directly to the rear scope base. I have 2 on a couple BRNO's and they are the cats pyjamas! I would get a sourdough (strait blade with brass face) front sight from NECG to match the peep as well, its a great combo!
