Well, after a long time in the making and lots of calls to and from Dillon Precision, I have a 1050 with all the bells and whistles attached in the mail to my house.:dancingbanana: I am setting up to load 9mm, 45ACP, .223, and 30-06.

Now that I know it is in the mail, I am already looking around to outfit it with a bullet feeder, if only for the pistol calibers.

From my research, there are three bullet feeders on the market.

GSI - Seems to be well built, but with a massive price tag and no caliber conversion kits, this is impractical for my purposes. $700, and you have to buy a new unit for every caliber.

Mr. Bulletfeeder (Previously the KISS Bulletfeeder) - Built out of plumbing parts, and is very expensive considering that. $550 +150 for every caliber change.

RCBS Bulletfeeder. By far the cheapest, but it only does pistol rounds. Big plus is it already comes with everything to load any bullet from 9mm to .45ACP. Only downside other then not feeding rifle rounds is I am not sure if it will work on the 1050. RCBS's website says it will fit on most progressive presses that accept 7/8"-14 threads, including the Dillon 550 and 650. No mention of the 1050, but it seems like there should be no problem with it fitting, right? $500.

Let me know what would be the best choice for me.

I will get you photos when I get the press. I am so excited!

I had a GSI...and returned it. Overly complicated, over priced...and very inconsistent. (ie...doesn't work very well)

I have a Mr Bulletfeeder now. Don't get hung up on what it looks like...it is a great piece of kit and works flawlessly.

It's a must have on any progressive press.

Congrats on the 1050...you won't be disappointed. Less time on the reloading bench means more time on the range!

i have a Mister bullet feeder (OK really a KISS.) it was easy to set up and in one day i had it working flawlessly. my buddy has a GSI and after 6 months and a lot of conversion he finally has it to wear it doesn't jam every 100 rounds (don't ask about 200.) for me my money (really Cathy's as she bought it for me) was well spent on the Mr. Bullet feeder and that would be my recommendation. the parts to work, the collator, bullet flipper, motor and feeder are anything but plumbing parts. it is only the stand that is and if it saved me a $100 then great.

A 1050 Came in the mail today!

Guess what came in the mail today?

Four massive boxes stamped with Dillon Precision Logos perhaps? :D

I will get pics when it is set up. I am pumped.

Canuck, I may take you up on your offer in a bit once I get it unboxed.
